The Friends of the Eagle Lake Wintermann Library Auction Chairman Christine Owen announced that the Friends of the Library 44th Annual Auction and Dinner is in the planning stages and is set to open the doors of the Community Center at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
Owen said she will be busy making dozens of cookies to fill up a hand-painted bucket, which will be available in the silent auction. She also said that committee members have been busy procuring items for both the silent auction and live auction.
Some things attendees can look forward to are free beer and wine during the social hour between 5-6 p.m.; homemade goodies to purchase at the bakery booth; chicken fried chicken and three sides provided by Monster Bites; nearly 100 items to bid on during the silent auction; a Last Man Standing Game with prizes; a raffle drawing for generous gift certificates and a variety of guns; and Auctioneer Todd Krenek will once again present the live auction with a wide variety of high-ticket items.
Owen reminds all involved that just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to support the library. As part of the community, the public is encouraged to purchase raffle tickets for $20 and dinner tickets for $12 at the Eula and David Wintermann Library or from any Friends of the Library members.
