COLUMBUS – Families who want to “putter around” will get their wish granted at Nesbitt Memorial Library, 529 Washington St., on Friday, July 28, with Library Mini Golf, from noon-5:30 p.m.

The library said the event will be brought to the community free of charge with the help of local sponsors.

“Our goal is to have every young golfer have a fun experience!” NML Friend Nancy Williams said. “It’s a neat and unique way to experience the library on a hot summer day while staying cool inside!”

The library said the miniature golf course will magically appear inside the library in the newly remodeled facility. To add to the excitement, prizes and refreshments await the golfers at the end of the course, according to a release.

“A company that works with libraries across the U.S. is coming to Columbus for the special event. With their help, we’re transforming the interior into 19 holes of miniature golf in and between the library stacks,” NML Friend Currie Luedecke said. “Shrieks of glee and claps of joy are welcome in what is a normally quiet atmosphere. Bring your friends to multiply the fun!”

“Friends of NML could not have done this extravaganza without the help of our generous sponsors,” Ester Chandler said. “Because of their significant funding, everyone can enjoy this free event.”

Sponsors of the event include Columbus Rotary Club; Daniel T. Moeller, DDS.; Leyco Real Estate; The First State Bank; Columbus Eye Associates; Blue Dolphin Realty, LLC; Columbus Flower Shop; Edward Jones—Russell C.
