Weimar VFW Auxiliary Post 5875 accepts new member

WEIMAR – The Weimar VFW Auxiliary to Post 5875 held its regular meeting on July 11.

The Auxiliary said the application for membership for Monica Stock was approved. She will be initiated at the meeting on Aug. 8.

The Auxiliary said the Correspondence was read by Secretary Marty Heinrich from District 24 President Barb Koehn regarding membership status, future district meetings and specifically the agenda for the next district meeting on July 29 in Cuero. Marty Heinrich also read a letter from Chaplain Jeanette Hoelscher who resigned her position, the organization reports.

The organization said there were 10 residents, 9 veterans and 3 auxiliary volunteers present at the Men’s Coffee at Parkview on June 16.

The Auxiliary said it will provide a Texas flag and a U.S. flag to St. Michael school to replace the old ones.

The quarterly audit report was presented by Trustee Jeanette Koenig and it was accepted as read, the Auxiliary reports.

The next meeting will be 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Weimar VFW Hall kitchen.
