The Lady Raiders are still looking to get their first district win of the season. While they have had nights of offensive effectiveness, Tuesday night’s game against Yoakum was not an example of such a night. Their offensive struggles fed into their defensive struggles as they fell to a big 62-42 defeat.
Rice never found a way to make the game competitive after falling behind early. Yoakum was able to create easy looks at the basket and convert them at a high clip. For the Lady Raiders’ offense, they had difficulties getting shots to fall with Yoakum’s high-pressure defense.
Tatianna Mills led the way for Rice with 12 points. Aleah Conejo scored four points and Alejandra Palacios scored three points to help out an offense that struggled throughout most of the game.
