SCHULENBURG – The Alliance for College and Career Student Success is offering a Summer Bridge Program with programming that targets all high school students, particularly those who are considering taking dual credit classes. Dual credit classes are taken while in high school and count as both high school and college credit. Through ACCSS, both academic and technical dual credit classes are offered through Blinn College for ACCSS partner schools, according to a release.
The ACCSS Summer Bridge Program will be offered July 18-20, from 8 a.m. – noon at Blinn College – Schulenburg Campus. All incoming freshmen through graduating seniors are welcome. Students should check in at the Liberal Arts building, room 120. This workshop is free of charge. Additionally, students interested in TSIA2 prep may stay for a working lunch each day and test one subject area (ELAR or Math) after lunch on July 20. Assistance with the ApplyTexas application with also be offered.
The ACCSS said the Summer Bridge Program will cover topics such as time management, organization, goal setting, study skills, stress management, note-taking, dual credit FAQ’s and more. The goal is that students who complete the ACCSS Summer Bridge Program will enter their fall academic year with confidence, a network of support, and a strong foundation for success. According to a release, all high school students who will attend ACCSS partner campuses next year are encouraged to participate, particularly those considering their post-secondary goals and the best pathway to achieve these.
