Vets fall to Firemen

The Weimar Vets traveled to Fireman’s Park on Sunday, July 9. After a scoreless first two innings, Trey Daniels reached on a hit by pitch. Ryker Goehring blasted a homerun over the left field fence, scoring Daniels for a 2-0 lead.

The Weimar Vets traveled to Fireman’s Park on Sunday, July 9. After a scoreless first two innings, Trey Daniels reached on a hit by pitch. Ryker Goehring blasted a homerun over the left field fence, scoring Daniels for a 2-0 lead.

New Ulm took a 4-2 lead in the fourth. After seven innings, the Firemen led 8-5. The Vets left four runners in scoring position in the eighth and ninth innings, taking the 8-6 loss.

Goehring started the game, pitching the first three innings while striking out two and allowing no runs or walks. Cody Barret pitched the eighth, striking out two with no runs and no hits.

Offensive leaders: Goehring- Home Run, 2 RBIs, run; Brady Henke- 3 singles, 2 runs, 2 stolen bases; Clay Barton- 2 singles, RBI; Barrett- double, single, RBI; Jeff Osbornsingle, walk, sacrifice, run; Kevin Polasek- single, run, walk; Alex Angerstein- RBI.
