Columbus youth track teams get strong performances

The Columbus youth track team had some impressive performances during a home-hosted meet as they faced off against other local athletes. Many runners found success for Columbus, but especially the runners who participated in the relay events. Columbus won first place in every division for the relays as they contributed to a strong day overall for the youth team.

The Columbus youth track team had some impressive performances during a home-hosted meet as they faced off against other local athletes. Many runners found success for Columbus, but especially the runners who participated in the relay events. Columbus won first place in every division for the relays as they contributed to a strong day overall for the youth team.

For the 8U boys, Dallas Taylor came away with the fastest 50m time. He also had the fastest 100m time after clocking 16.78 seconds. Taylor also had the fastest 200m time, just a millisecond ahead of Jartavius Venghaus Jr. The 8U girls were led by Samaria Williams in the 50m dash, Zavrie Mc-Cathern in the 100m and 200m sprints.

The 10U age group for the boys clocked only their 100m dash, with BDajhon Houston coming away with the fastest sprint time. The 10U girls were led by Jaycee Hayes-Woods with a time of 16.09 in the 100m dash. She also had the fastest time in the 200m dash in her age group.

The 12U boys’ Jaiden Carter had the fastest 100m time with Kash Wilbert not far behind him. Jacob Owen came away with the quickest 200m time in the age group. Arielle Martin finished in first place in the 100m dash for the 12U girls, and she also took first in the 200m as well.
