Youth sports is an important element to the childhoods of many Colorado County children as they get their initial experiences with the feelings of competitiveness, teamwork and hard work towards a goal. Many of these young players find a passion for the sports that they engage in, keeping up with the sport for many years through their youth and often into their high school years and potentially college as well. Finding their athletic passion at a young age helps them develop from a young age, giving them a chance to truly pursue their athletic dreams. For 10-year-old Rebel Lynn Taylor, her passion for soccer has already given her drive and a goal to chase with the sport.
Taylor started her soccer career at just four years old, committing to both the fall and the spring seasons to begin her foray into the sport. It did not take long for a love for the game to develop as she eventually grew into a true soccer enthusiast.
“Most people that know her, know that she is completely in love with soccer,” Rebel’s mother Marrissa Taylor said, “Even the ones who don’t personally know her, know her from soccer games for being the most competitive soccer player and the team leader.”
With such strong fervor for soccer at a young age, Taylor already realizes her own potential and carries within her a desire to take the sport as far as it will lead in her life. She has earned some solid reinforcement from her peers as well as her team coaches and executives. Their positive motivation has contributed to her strong desire to pursue soccer at a deeper level. She hopes that her passion for the sport can develop into her life’s work, chasing a goal of playing soccer professionally some day in her future.
