Colorado County Fair pageant contest open

COLUMBUS – The 2023 Colorado County Fair pageant is fast approaching and registration for pageants has started.

Contestants can register online via the Colorado County Fair website at coloradocountyfair. org or by calling one of the directors below.

The fair said contestant or parent must attend an informational meeting at the Fair Grounds office on Wednesday July 5 or Thursday, July 6 from 4:00-6:30 p.m. for sign-up, information, and season passes to sell. If unable to attend, contact one of the following volunteers to get the information packet before the deadline -Shannan Gerik at 979-7320865 or Heidi May at 832-5885525 The deadline to enter the pageant is Tuesday, July 18.

Fair Queen Pageants will take place Thursday, Sept. 7 on stage in the Founders Hall. The Little Miss/Mister and Jr. Miss Pageants will be at 5:30 p.m. The Junior Fair Queen Pageant will be at 7 p.m. The Fair Queen Pageant will be at 7 p.m.

The 2023 Membership Queen will be crowned Thursday, Sept. 14. Contestants may sell tickets and memberships to count toward their totals until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

The Colorado County Fair pageant is a great way for the youth of Colorado County to participate and have an active role in the Colorado County Fair, coordinators said. The winners will have an opportunity to participate in the fair both weekends by giving out awards, getting introduced at events, meeting the entertainment, and riding in the 2023 Fair Parade.
