Colorado County Fair pageant contestants opens

The Colorado County Fair has released the following guidelines for each competition: Girls between the ages of 11 – 14 as of Sept. 1 are eligible to enter the Junior Queen contest.

Girls between the ages of 15 – 18 as of Sept. 1 are eligible to enter the Colorado County Fair Membership Queen and Fair Queen contests.

Girls between the ages of 8 –10 as of Sept. 1 are eligible to enter the Colorado County Fair Junior Miss contest.

Boys and girls between the ages of 5 – 7 as of Sept. 1 are eligible to enter the Lil Miss and Mister Pageant.

Requirements for Junior Queen contestants include $50 entry fee paid by either parent or business/ civic club sponsor, selling 25 season passes to the fair, a recent headshot photo and formal attire.

Requirements for the Fair Membership Queen and Fair Queen contestants include entry form and $75 entry fee paid by a sponsor (parent, business or civic group), recent photo headshot, selling 50 season passes to the fair as well as life memberships and carnival pre-sale passes, and formal attire.

Junior Fair Queen and Membership Queen contestants will be required to participate in private and public interviews with out of county judges the day of the pageant.

Requirements for the Little Miss and Mister and Junior Miss contests include entry form, a recent headshot photo, and $25 entry fee. Western attire is recommended but not required. Contestants will be required to participate in an on-stage interview with out-of-county judges.

According to a release, all fair pageant contestants must live in Colorado County. Winners must be able to ride in the flair float in area parades and represent the fair and fair events. Parents are required to pull the CCF float at area parades.

The contestant or parent must attend an informational meeting at the Fair Grounds office on Wednesday, July 5 or Thursday, July 6 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for sign-up, information, and season passes to sell, according to a release.

If unable to attend, contact a volunteer to get the information packet.

The entry deadline for pageant contestants is Tuesday, July 18.
