Columbus star quarterback Adam Schobel has made a decision on where he will continue his athletic career on the gridiron. With two more high school seasons to play, Schobel has made a huge commitment, announcing to Baylor that he intends to attend their school and play football for the Bears. After coming off a deep playoff run this past season and a strong freshman season, Baylor had plenty of arguments to keep the slinger in Texas.
Schobel likely gained the Bears attention with his overall accuracy and his ability to hit the deep ball. He consistently put his receivers in positions to make big plays as his ball placement was often in places where only the offense could reach it. According to MaxPreps.com Schobel threw out 17 touchdowns and over 12 hundred yards through the air during his sophomore season. His accuracy was elite as he finished the season completing 78% of his passes. Led by Schobel, the Cards reached the state quarterfinals and lost in a tight game against the eventual state champions, Franklin.
While Schobel has just two years remaining with the Cards to try to help the team win its first ever state championship, his performances that helped Columbus become one of the best teams in the state have ensured he will have significant football to look forward to following his graduation.
