At their meeting on June 6, the Weimar Lions presented Jennifer Owens, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Weimar, Schulenburg and Columbus, with a donation for the club.
The Lions said Owens spoke about the purpose of the club, such as it is NOT a baby-sitting organization. The club teaches self-value to all members and provides a safe place where members can meet and mingle. Members are provided snacks and refreshments. The club provides activities and programs for all, plus personal help as needed. The club does not discriminate against any race, religion, or gender. There is a membership fee, but no one is turned away if they can’t pay.
