Historical Commission gets new members

COLUMBUS – The Colorado County Historical Commission made history Jan. 11 with the swearing in of nearly 30 new members.

COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Historical Commission made history Jan. 11 with the swearing in of nearly 30 new members.

Sharon Marsalia, administrative assistant to Colorado County Judge Ty Prause, officiated at the ceremony.

The Colorado County Commissioners Court appoints members to the historical commission for two-year terms during odd-numbered years.

The newest members are Becky Anderson, Mark Anderson, Allen Bellamy (vice chair), Mariette Bellamy (secretary), Warren Briggs, Susan Chandler, Bernice Etheridge, Joe Fling, Karyn Frayard, Ron Frnka, Ed Jackson, Rita Jackson, Joye Johnson, K. W. “Corky” Johnson, Elvera Kahlich, Mary Ann Kaluza, Jo Ann Locklin, Eve Lucas, Heidi May, Cody Nance, Henry Potter, Pamela Potter, Walter Rognerud (treasurer), Ken Stavinoha, Evelyn Stowers, Larry Uhlig, Marilyn Wade, Roger Wade, Wanda Webb, Regena Williamson (chair) and Nancy Wooten.

The historical marker chair has not been appointed at this time.
