Dorothy Henderson Perkins of Columbus, Texas passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023, in Eagle Lake, Texas.
She was born April 1, 1936, in Flushing, New York to parents Alfred and Ann (Second) Franza. On Aug. 1, 2002, she married Harry Perkins.
Dorothy was a retired school bus driver and a longtime member of Columbus Community Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Dorothy loved animals and never met a stranger. She had the gift of gab! She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Gail Gallaher and husband Rodger of Columbus and Lynn Calhoun and husband Joe of Sugar Land; sons Mark Henderson of Columbus, Brian Henderson of East Setauket, New York, and James Henderson and wife Margaret of Smithtown, New York; sister Carole Mannkopi of Millsboro, Delaware; eight grandchildren, Kerri Jaeger and husband Brandon Garamillo, Ryan Calhoun and wife Georgia, Griffin Calhoun and wife Christi, Ashley Henderson, Stephen Henderson, Kevin Henderson, Kristen Henderson and Wesley Gallaher; seven great grandchildren, Giana Garamillo, Jude Calhoun, Milly Henderson, Joseph Henderson, Brianna Gallaher, Tristan Gallaher and Mason Gallaher.
She was preceded in death by her father Alfred Franza; mother Ann Franza; daughter Karen Henderson; grandson Kyle Henderson; husband Harry Perkins.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
