City of Eagle Lake swears in new members

EAGLE LAKE – The Eagle Lake City Council had a special meeting on Monday night to canvass the election results and to swear in its new members.

EAGLE LAKE – The Eagle Lake City Council had a special meeting on Monday night to canvass the election results and to swear in its new members.

Prior to administering the Oath of Office to the new council members. The city council recognized the outgoing councilmembers –Michael Cooper and GayeLynn Thomas. Cooper made the decision not to run in this previous election earlier this year.

During the meeting, Cooper and Thomas were presented with plaques for their service.

In a Facebook post, the city said it “extends its gratitude to former Alderman Michael Cooper and Alderwomen GayeLynn Thomas for their dedication to civic engagement, the community and support of the city team.”

Mayor Tim Kelley administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Councilmen Jim Wood and Chris Parker and to re-elected Councilwoman Rene Cooper.
