New associate judge for Eagle Lake sworn in

EAGLE LAKE – The Eagle Lake City Council held a regular session on Tuesday, May 9 to discuss taking action on appointing an Associate Municipal Judge for Eagle Lake.

This was an ongoing conversation from previous council meetings. During that time Pastor Dave Curry and Judge Russell from East Bernard were the two members up for discussion.

Councilwoman Rene Cooper said that the person appointed should be from the Eagle Lake area. She also said she did her research and saw that there were not any specifics needed for the position for one to apply.

After discussion, the council appointed Curry. Curry will serve along Judge Stan Warfield, who currently serves as the Municipal Judge for Eagle Lake.

Pastor Dave Curry is the pastor of Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Eagle Lake.
