Michael James Huebel, 63, of Columbus, Texas passed away on March 10 in Columbus, Texas.

He was born on June 17, 1960 to Albert J. Huebel, Jr. and Jurline (Halfmann) Huebel in Weimar, Texas. Michael was the second of three sons. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1978. On July 14, 1984 he married Lorna Noak. Michael was the proud father to three daughters and the proud grandfather to three grandchildren.

Michael started working for Smith Industries in 1978 as a welder. He remained at the same location through several company changes while also moving up in positions. He was most recently a lead supervisor for Titan Production.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He attended St. Anthony School through 8th grade.

Michael enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and making deer sausage. He enjoyed sharing his canned items and deer sausage with family and friends. Michael also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Michael is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Lorna Huebel; daughters, Amber Bryant and husband Robert, Melanie Zavala and husband Luis, and Natal ie Huebel; brother, Randy Huebel and wife Sylvia; sister-in-law Diana Kallus and husband Chris; grandchildren Trey Bryant, Spencer Zavala, and Peyton Zavala; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Jurline Huebel; brother, John A. Huebel; in-laws, Milton and Verlene Noak.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas. A rosary will follow at 7 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, Texas. Fr. James Dvorak will be officiating. Visitation at church will be from 9 to 10 a.m.

Burial will take place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus, Texas.

Pallbearers are Arthur Faldyn, R. J. Halfmann, Mark Kasmiersky, Herman C. Schramm, Billy Vasek and Stephen Vasek.
